We are conducting a CEO search on behalf of a stable, profitable service organisation with established revenue streams. The role calls for a commercially minded leader with the operational capability to lead its next stage of growth.

The business has a sound commercial base and a clear operating model. The incoming CEO's mandate will be to strengthen operational performance, develop further revenue opportunities and increase net profitability.

The business requires a leader who understands how workforce deployment, productivity, service delivery and pricing combine to determine commercial results. Candidates should also bring experience deploying software, automation and AI tools, leading their adoption and delivering measurable improvements in efficiency and financial performance.

The role

Working with the Board and senior management team, you will take responsibility for the performance and development of the business. Your priorities will include:

  • Commercial performance: Own profitability, cash flow and growth, with a clear understanding of pricing, contract economics and the factors affecting margin.
  • Operational effectiveness: Lead a large workforce delivering high volumes of service within tight margins. Improve productivity, capacity and consistency of delivery.
  • Technology and AI: Make effective use of existing systems and introduce new tools where there is a clear business case.
  • Clients and contracts: Develop senior client relationships, oversee negotiations and identify opportunities to expand existing revenue streams.
  • Leadership: Give the management team clear direction, support sound decisions and maintain accountability for results.
  • Strategy and governance: Work with the Board on business priorities, investment decisions and sustainable growth.

Your experience

  • You will have held substantial commercial and operational responsibility in a service business, with direct ownership of financial performance and evidence of improving results.
  • Experience leading a large workforce in a high-volume, labour-intensive environment will be particularly relevant.
  • You will understand how decisions on people, pricing, deployment and service delivery affect profitability.
  • You will also bring practical experience of deploying software, automation and AI tools across an organisation, securing adoption and measuring the benefits.

Your current title may be CEO, Managing Director, COO or Divisional Director. We are interested in the scale of responsibility you have held, your judgement and the results you have delivered.

Relevant experience may come from a range of service sectors.
