Fully Remote | $180K-$250K Base + Bonus We're partnering with a rapidly growing, fully remote CPA firm that is looking to add a Tax Director or Tax Principal to its leadership team.

This is a highly visible role designed for an experienced tax professional who enjoys operating beyond compliance and wants to play a meaningful role in client advisory, team leadership, technical review, and the continued evolution of a modern, cloud-based tax practice.

What You’ll Be Responsible For • Final review of complex individual, partnership, S-Corporation, and corporate tax returns • Serving as a trusted advisor to business owners and high-net-worth clients on tax planning and strategic initiatives • Leading client relationships throughout the year, not just during busy season • Identifying tax-saving opportunities and providing proactive planning recommendations • Mentoring and developing Managers, Seniors, and Staff accountants • Assisting with department scalability, workflow improvements, and process optimization • Providing technical guidance on complex tax matters and transactions • Collaborating with firm leadership on growth initiatives and operational improvements • Helping drive a client service model centered around responsiveness, advisory value, and long-term relationships The Environment • Fully remote • Cloud-native operations • UltraTax, QBO, TaxDome, Karbon, and modern technology stack • Established administrative and tax support teams • Strong client retention and referral-driven growth • Collaborative leadership group with a long-term vision for the firm • Advisory-focused culture rather than a volume-driven compliance environment Background They're Seeking • 10+ years of public accounting tax experience • Current Tax Director, Tax Principal, Senior Tax Manager, or experienced Tax Manager ready for the next step • Strong experience with HNW individuals, pass-through entities, partnerships, and multi-entity tax structures • Demonstrated success managing client relationships and serving as a trusted advisor • Experience reviewing complex tax returns and mentoring tax professionals • Strong technical tax knowledge and research capabilities • UltraTax experience strongly preferred • CPA required Compensation & Benefits • Most opportunities falling in the $180K-$250K range depending on experience • Performance bonus opportunities • Fully remote within the U.S. • Flexible PTO • Strong long-term advancement opportunities • Flexible start dates If you’re looking for an opportunity where you can have a seat at the table, work directly with clients on meaningful planning and advisory initiatives, and help shape the future of a growing virtual CPA firm, we’d be happy to provide additional details confidentially.
