Available Locations New York About the Role We are seeking an exceptionally accomplished Majors Account Executive to join our Enterprise/Field Sales team, focused on selling to IBM and a few other accounts.
The ideal candidate possesses executive-level sales leadership, deep enterprise-architecture understanding (business, data, applications, technology), and the ability to articulate how Cloudflare integrates into modern cloud operating models.
The role requires applying executive sponsorship programs, engaging with CIOs, CISOs, and CTOs, and leading virtual teams that include VPs and SVPs to close complex opportunities. Articulate how Cloudflare fits into a modern cloud operating model.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence: Lead virtual teams (including Product Managers, VPs, SVPs) to manage and close strategic opportunities. Define Goals & Drive Efficiency: Define quarterly team goals and metrics, understand interdependencies, and proactively address roadblocks.
Mastery of Customer Enterprise Architecture (Business, Data, Applications, Technology) and mapping to modern cloud environments. Experience leading virtual teams of VPs and SVPs to close strategic opportunities. Ability to define team goals, drive cross-department efficiency, and address roadblocks.

In this expert-level role, you will drive Cloudflare’s most strategic customer engagements, leading critical platform sales within focused accounts. As a Majors Account Executive, you will demonstrate the highest level of sales proficiency, ensure accurate forecasting, strategic pipeline management, and consistently exceed targets.
You will educate customers and partners on Cloudflare’s product ecosystem and its role in security. You will shape customers’ digital transformation journeys and position Cloudflare as a strategic partner.
Responsibilities Executive-Level Strategic Revenue Leadership: Own and execute the most critical territory and account plans, consistently exceeding multi-million dollar sales targets and quotas by closing large-scale platform sales in focused, strategic accounts.
Precision Forecasting & Pipeline Mastery: Lead with accuracy in forecasting and proactive pipeline management. Provide strategic guidance that shapes the sales organization. Enterprise Architecture & Business Model Expertise: Demonstrate expert understanding of Enterprise Architecture across four pillars and map these to customer business models.
C-Suite Engagement & Executive Sponsorship: Lead complex engagements across business units, applying executive sponsorship programs and engaging with CIOs, CISOs, and CTOs. Resolve roadblocks and share learnings across the organization.
Digital Transformation Visionary: Lead Cloudflare’s voice on digital transformation, identifying drivers for change and opportunities within market trends. Organizational Communication & Feedback: Craft clear messaging across departments and locations; review performance and provide constructive feedback.
Long-Term Strategic Impact: Articulate long-term impacts of decisions and build trust by sharing learnings and upholding high standards. Company-Wide Innovation & Problem Solving: Address needs across the department and company, driving innovative improvements and challenging the status quo where appropriate.
Inclusive Leadership & Future-Proofing: Bring diverse perspectives to address current and future needs. Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience 10+ years of expert-level experience selling complex, multi-million dollar technology solutions in a B2B enterprise model, with a track record of exceeding quota.
In-depth knowledge of Cloudflare’s product suite and the broader security landscape, with ability to educate customers and partners at an expert level. Experience applying executive sponsorship programs with CIOs, CISOs, and CTOs. Expertise in digital transformation and market trends, positioning Cloudflare as a strategic partner.
Strong strategic communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for executive audiences. Long-term decision-making aligned with Cloudflare’s goals and standards. Comfort leading change and driving innovation across the organization. Proficiency in sales and business intelligence tools (e.g., Salesforce, Tableau, G Suite, MS Office, MEDDPICC).
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred. Ability to travel extensively as needed. Compensation Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. For New York City, New Jersey, Washington, DC, and California (excluding the Bay Area) based hires: Estimated annual salary of $330,000-$380,000 (base/variable).
This role is eligible to earn incentive compensation under Cloudflare’s Sales Compensation Plan. The estimated annual salary range includes on-target incentive compensation. Equity This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.
