Group Managing Director – Life Sciences Location: Germany (International Scope) The Opportunity Our client is a privately held international investment and operating group with a diverse portfolio of businesses across the life sciences sector.

Reporting directly to the Group leadership team, the successful candidate will work closely with portfolio company CEOs, boards, investors, and key stakeholders to drive growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation. Partner with portfolio company CEOs and leadership teams to define and execute growth strategies.

Support portfolio companies through key growth phases, including international expansion, M&A, fundraising, partnerships, and market entry initiatives. Build trusted relationships with management teams, investors, scientific leaders, external partners, and industry stakeholders.

Provide constructive challenge and strategic guidance to leadership teams while fostering entrepreneurial cultures. Demonstrated success leading complex international businesses and/or portfolios of companies. Experience supporting M&A, business transformation, international expansion, and organisational scaling initiatives.

International outlook and willingness to travel extensively as required. #J-18808-Ljbffr The Group is seeking an exceptional senior executive to join as Group Managing Director – Life Sciences, providing strategic leadership, governance oversight, and value creation support across a portfolio of innovative companies operating globally.

This is a high-impact role for an experienced leader who combines deep life sciences expertise with commercial acumen, strong board-level engagement capabilities, and a proven ability to scale and transform businesses across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities Portfolio Leadership & Value Creation Provide strategic oversight and leadership across the Group's life sciences portfolio. Identify and implement value creation initiatives across commercial, operational, organisational, and financial dimensions.

Governance & Stakeholder Management Represent the Group on portfolio company boards where appropriate. Establish and maintain strong governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with shareholder objectives and regulatory requirements.

Strategic Development Evaluate new investment opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic transactions within the life sciences sector. Conduct commercial and strategic assessments to support investment decisions. Identify sector trends, emerging technologies, and market opportunities that can enhance portfolio performance.

Contribute to the development and execution of the Group's broader life sciences strategy. Operational Excellence Support organisational development and leadership capability across portfolio companies. Drive best-practice sharing across the portfolio. Champion performance improvement initiatives and operational excellence programmes.

Ensure effective risk management and compliance within highly regulated environments. Candidate Profile We are seeking a highly accomplished executive with a strong track record of leadership within life sciences and healthcare-related industries.

Key requirements include: Significant senior leadership experience within life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, diagnostics, healthcare services, or related sectors. Experience working with boards, investors, private equity, family offices, holding companies, or investment groups.

Strong commercial and strategic capabilities, with a proven ability to drive growth and enterprise value. Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills. Ability to operate effectively across multiple geographies, cultures, and business models.

Advanced degree in a relevant scientific, medical, business, or technical discipline preferred; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification advantageous. Personal Attributes Strategic thinker with strong commercial judgement. Credible and influential at board and executive level.

Collaborative leadership style with the ability to challenge constructively. Entrepreneurial mindset combined with operational rigour. Results-oriented with a passion for innovation and business growth.
