The Comp anyOur client is a Berlin-based international solar platform active across the full value chain, from development and construction through to long-term asset ownership and operation.

The RoleReporting directly to the CFO, the Director of Portfolio and Investment Management is a newly created position with three core pillars and one overriding mandate: build the function from the ground up and ensure the business makes disciplined, data-driven investment decisions as it sc ales.Investment Decision-Making and Gover nanceOwn the investment evaluation process across greenfield development, M&A, partnerships and divest mentsAct as the finance and risk counterbalance to the commercial and development teams, challenging project economics and assump tionsLead financial modelling, valuation and business case development for IC and CFO-level deci sionsEstablish investment governance frameworks and ensure consistency of decision-making across ma rketsDefine capital allocation strategy and drive hold vs. sell analysis across the portf olio.

Our client is at an inflection point, transitioning from a project sale-driven developer into an Independent Power Producer that retains and operates assets for long-term value.

To make that transition work, they need someone who can sit at the intersection of development and finance, bring genuine investment judgement to project-level decisions, and build the function that will underpin the next decade of growth .

With approximately 850 employees globally and revenues of around EUR 400 million, the business operates across multiple European markets with a portfolio spanning utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage and hybrid asse ts.

Backed by a leading private equity firm, the business is now building the operational and financial infrastructure to support its evolution as an IPP. This role is central to that ambit ion.

You understand what a solar or BESS project looks like at every stage of its lifecycle, what drives its economics, and what questions to ask before committing capital.
