A leading international financial institution is continuing to expand its corporate banking platform across Europe and is looking to appoint a director-level Corporate Banker to lead coverage and origination across the German market.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and expanding a portfolio of corporate relationships across the German Consumer, Industrial and Retail sectors, with a particular focus on new client origination and long‑term relationship development.

Based in Dublin, you will work as part of a growing European corporate banking platform, partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the wider organisation and leveraging the firm’s international network to deliver solutions to clients.

Desired Background

• Fluent German is a distinct benefit.
• Significant experience in Corporate Banking, Global Corporate Banking or Corporate Coverage.
• A strong track record of client origination and revenue generation.
• Experience covering large corporates / multinational businesses.
• Established relationships across the German corporate market.
• Exposure to one or more of the Consumer, Industrial or Retail sectors.
• The ability to engage credibly with senior corporate stakeholders.
• Strong commercial judgement and an entrepreneurial approach to business development.
• Experience working within a large international banking or financial institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead corporate banking coverage and business development across the German market.
• Originate new corporate banking relationships and identify opportunities to grow existing relationships.
• Develop trusted relationships with senior decision‑makers including CFOs, Treasurers and other C‑suite stakeholders.
• Manage and develop a portfolio of large corporate clients across Consumer, Industrial and Retail sectors.
• Identify opportunities across lending, structured finance, treasury and wider banking solutions.
• Work collaboratively with product, credit and sector specialists to develop tailored client solutions.
• Build a strong pipeline of new business and take ownership of opportunities from origination through to execution.
• Leverage the firm’s international platform and European network to support German clients.
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the European corporate banking franchise.
