This role sits on the Total Rewards Leadership Team and shapes programs that elevate the employee experience, strengthen engagement, and support business performance.
Reporting to the SVP, Total Rewards and Talent, the Director, Benefits & Wellbeing owns the strategy, design, and execution of a comprehensive benefits portfolio across the United States and Canada.
What You’ll Do Set and evolve the enterprise benefits and wellbeing strategy, aligning programs to business priorities and workforce needs Lead execution of a multi-year roadmap spanning health, retirement, and wellbeing Oversee design, delivery, and governance of U.S. and Canada programs, including medical, pharmacy, retirement, leave, financial wellbeing, and holistic wellbeing initiatives Manage budgets, forecast trends, and implement strategies that optimize spend while maintaining market competitiveness Select, negotiate, and manage vendor partnerships to ensure high-quality delivery and measurable performance Ensure compliance with all U.S. and Canadian regulatory requirements and maintain effective governance frameworks Drive an integrated wellbeing strategy across physical, financial, and emotional health to increase engagement and utilization Build and lead a high-performing team, strengthening capability and accountability across the function Partner with Finance, Legal, and HR leaders to align rewards strategy with business objectives Develop and execute enterprise-wide communication strategies that simplify complex concepts and increase employee understanding and action Lead large-scale campaigns (e.g., annual enrollment, program launches) that improve participation and outcomes Advise senior leadership on messaging, positioning, and stakeholder alignment Lead change initiatives related to program evolution and vendor transitions, ensuring effective adoption and continuity What You Bring 8+ years of progressive experience in Benefits or Total Rewards 3+ years leading teams and developing talent Deep expertise in U.S. benefits, with working knowledge of Canadian programs Track record of leading benefits strategy in large, multi-state or global organizations Advanced financial, analytical, and vendor management capabilities Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively in complex environments Experience designing communication strategies that drive engagement and behavior change Expertise leading change management initiatives tied to program transformation By applying for a position with Alight, you understand that, should you be made an offer, it will be contingent on your undergoing and successfully completing a background check consistent with Alight’s employment policies.
