Location: Munich or other major European/UK cities
About The Role
An established global life sciences organisation is looking for an accomplished in vivo oncology pharmacology expert to join its European team at Associate Director, Director or Senior Director level.
This is a highly visible, client-facing scientific position for someone who wants to combine their deep technical expertise in oncology drug development with scientific consulting, business development and senior stakeholder engagement.
You will act as a key scientific point of contact for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients, helping them translate their research objectives into effective preclinical strategies and solutions. Working closely with internal scientific teams, you will bring together client needs, scientific expertise and available technologies to support the development of new opportunities.
Experience & Education
- PhD or MD in Oncology, Pharmacology, Cancer Biology, Life Sciences or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in oncology research and drug development.
- Strong and demonstrable expertise in in vivo oncology pharmacology and tumour models.
- Comprehensive understanding of the oncology drug-development pathway, from target validation through preclinical development.
- Previous experience in a scientific advisory, technical support, scientific consulting or client-facing role within pharma, biotech, CRO or a related life-sciences environment.
- Experience engaging with external pharmaceutical or biotechnology clients is highly desirable.
- Experience working across international or cross-cultural scientific teams.
- Fluency in English is essential; additional European language skills are advantageous.
We’re looking for someone who combines scientific credibility with strong commercial awareness and communication skills.
You should be comfortable discussing complex scientific concepts with both highly technical researchers and senior non-technical stakeholders, while understanding how to identify client needs and translate them into appropriate scientific solutions.
You’ll ideally be:
- A recognised expert in tumour biology and in vivo oncology models.
- A confident and compelling scientific communicator.
- Comfortable operating in client facing and commercially focused environments.
- Strong at building long-term scientific relationships.
- Consultative, commercially aware and solutions focused.
- Highly autonomous, adaptable and comfortable working across international teams.
- Organised with strong project and stakeholder-management skills.
- Willing to travel regularly across Europe and occasionally internationally.
