Shape the Financial Future of a Growing Group

An expanding financial services organisation is seeking a commercially minded Finance Director to lead its finance function and support the next stage of its development.

With a diverse portfolio spanning financial planning, pensions, investments, protection, health insurance, mortgages and public sector advisory services, the Group is continuing to grow through a combination of acquisitions and organic expansion.

Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Director will take ownership of financial operations, strengthen reporting and controls, and provide the financial insight needed to support strategic decisions. Working alongside the CFO, M&A leadership and senior stakeholders, the role will also contribute to integrating acquired businesses and developing a finance function equipped for future growth.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading, mentoring and developing the finance team, building capability as the business expands.
  • Overseeing group financial reporting, management accounts and Board-level reporting.
  • Directing budgeting, forecasting and wider financial planning activities.
  • Managing consolidated reporting across multiple group entities.
  • Supporting mergers and acquisitions, including the financial integration of newly acquired businesses.
  • Maintaining effective financial controls, governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Enhancing reporting processes through automation, improved systems and the adoption of AI-enabled solutions.
  • Providing commercial insight and partnering with senior management to inform business strategy and performance.

What You’ll Bring

  • A recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent.
  • At least seven years’ post-qualification experience.
  • A strong track record in senior finance leadership.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial reporting, IFRS, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience managing finance within a group or multi-entity structure.
  • Confidence presenting financial information to Boards, executive committees and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to build effective working relationships across a business.
  • Experience managing and developing finance professionals.
  • The ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, evolving organisation.

Experience That Would Be an Advantage

  • A background in a high-growth business or an organisation pursuing an acquisition-led strategy.
  • Involvement in post-acquisition integration.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, financial automation and AI-supported reporting.
  • Experience engaging with external financial partners in support of business growth.
  • Experience establishing or leading a financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to take on a senior finance leadership position within an expanding group, with direct exposure to the CFO and wider leadership team.

You will have the scope to influence financial strategy, improve the quality and efficiency of reporting, contribute to acquisition integration and lead the continued development of a scalable, forward-looking finance function.
