The VP Post Quantum Cryptography is a full-time leadership role responsible for defining and driving the company’s post-quantum security strategy and Gimel PQC solution. Based in Bonn in a hybrid arrangement, this role combines on-site collaboration with flexibility for work from home.
The VP will collaborate closely with Gimel product management, sales, and customer success to translate market needs into enterprise-grade solutions and will represent the company in industry forums and customer engagements.
Qualifications Post-quantum cryptography: Deep expertise in NIST PQC schemes — lattice-based signatures (CRYSTALS-Dilithium) and key encapsulation (CRYSTALS-Kyber), including secure parameter selection (security level 3).
Provable security: Strong background in formal security proofs and reduction-based reasoning against both classical and quantum adversaries. Quantum threat modeling: Solid understanding of quantum attack models, Shor's/Grover's implications, and "harvest-now, decrypt-later" / Q-Day risk assessment.
Cryptographic key derivation: Skilled in deriving deterministic, reproducible key material from high-entropy biometric sources — bridging DNA identity (Gimel ID) and quantum-secure keys (Gimel PQC).
Side-channel resistance: Hands-on knowledge of constant-time implementation, secure key handling, and hardening within HSM / air-gapped environments (FIPS 140-2 Level 3). Crypto-agility & hybrid design: Ability to architect migration-ready, hybrid (classical + PQC) systems that stay resilient as standards evolve.
Secure protocol engineering: Competence in quantum-resistant signing of credentials (Extended Token/JWT, W3C Verifiable Credentials) compatible with eIDAS 2.0 / EUDI. Standards & compliance fluency: Familiarity with NIST PQC, BSI requirements, and eIDAS — and translating them into open GiFo-RFC specifications.
Implementation & code review: Practical cryptographic engineering skills for reference implementations, protocol review, and benchmarking (signature/verification performance).
Research-to-product translation: Capacity to bridge cutting-edge research and applied product development, plus building internal PQC competence through knowledge transfer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
