We seek candidates for the following position:TOUR LEADER/GUIDEFor our most popular river cruises in Rhein- Main – Danube area We are looking for a motivated and flexible person that is open to growth and feedback, that will welcome a chance to be challenged and thrive in the company that set the standard for river cruising and land tours.WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

Your main responsibility is to lead a group of elderly American travelers through countries in the Rhein – Main- Danube area according to the given itinerary.

On your way you will provide informative talks on the history, culture and highlights of the ports, cities and countries we visit.Regions: Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, SwitzerlandYou will conduct guided tours, discovery walks and accompany travelers to “off the beaten track” locations.Part of your daily routine will be confirming transportation/activities, working with local guides/vendors and dealing with emergency situations (with the help of our regional office)Arranging for medical personnel for the travelers, in case of emergency, and helping them with all further issuesWHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE SHOULD YOU HAVE?Enthusiasm and passion for the people, country, culture and traditions of the regionBe a local of the regions we travel to or have very strong connections to themAbility to share life experiences and a willingness to discuss controversial topics with guestsAbility to learn, try new things and go outside of your comfort zoneGood overview and knowledge of the history and culture of your areaAbility to relate well to a mature American travelerA strong and engaging leader who is flexible, creative, independent and highly organizedFluent English + other Germanic languages are preferred (itinerary-related)Basic knowledge of Excel to submit end of trip reports and paperwork.Prior ship and bus tour experience an advantage but not essential WHAT WE OFFER: Exciting and varied job with an opportunity for further professional growth and developmentIndustry-competitive compensation – stable minimum of €3400/ 15-day river cruise OR land tour plus an added incentive/bonus for achieving successComprehensive classroom and field training to the highest standards of Customer Service in the industry (river or bus training with compensated costs)Consistent and flexible scheduling of trips based on your availability and performance (season from March – December)Rewarding environment with an opportunity to express your opinions and be creativeLife changing experiences - both for you and the travelersIf you match the position, please send us your CV and motivation letter to: tbocko@oattravel.comLet us know about your travel experience and guiding group in the region and why you think you will be an excellent Program Director.
