Remote Senior Operations Director

About the Role

Our client, a fast-growing e-commerce enterprise with a global reach, is seeking an accomplished Remote Senior Operations Director to lead and scale its fulfillment and logistics operations across multiple regions. This fully remote position requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in supply chain management, process optimization, and team building in a distributed environment. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing efficient, cost-effective, and scalable operational strategies to support our expanding business needs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving operational excellence, managing large-scale projects, and leading high-performing remote teams. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive operational strategies for fulfillment, warehousing, and last-mile delivery to support global e-commerce growth.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of remote operations managers and specialists across various time zones.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.
• Oversee the budget for the operations department, ensuring financial targets are met and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
• Implement and maintain robust safety, security, and compliance protocols across all operational touchpoints.
• Collaborate closely with technology, product, and customer service teams to ensure seamless integration and operational readiness.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing data to drive data-informed decisions and operational adjustments.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and other key partners.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in e-commerce operations and supply chain management.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in operations and supply chain management, with a strong emphasis on e-commerce fulfillment and logistics.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience leading and managing remote teams effectively.
• Demonstrated success in designing and scaling complex operational processes for high-growth companies.
• Expertise in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and a passion for continuous improvement.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Outstanding communication, collaboration, and influencing abilities, particularly in a virtual setting.
• Proficiency with relevant WMS, TMS, and ERP systems.
• Must have a dedicated home office setup conducive to remote work and reliable high-speed internet.
