Key Responsibilities Strategic Oversight & Governance : Define project objectives, secure capital approval, and establish the overall project execution strategy Vendor & Supply Chain Management : Procure and manage multidisciplinary consultants, General Contractors (GCs), and specialized vendors to ensure alignment with project goals Budget & Commercial Control : Oversee multi-million/billion pound capital expenditure budgets, manage contracts, negotiate variations, and ensure strict financial governance Design & Engineering : Coordinate with technical teams (MEP, civil, structural) to ensure data center designs meet hyper-scale requirements, Tier standards, and energy efficiency targets Commissioning & Handover : Drive the end-to-end commissioning process to guarantee systems are tested, compliant, and ready for IT equipment installation prior to handover to operations Risk & Compliance : Track project risk registers and ensure rigorous Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards are met on site Requirements & Qualifications Experience : Experience in commercial, infrastructure, or mission-critical construction, with significant tenure specifically in data center delivery Technical Knowledge : Deep understanding of critical mechanical (HVAC, chiller plants) and electrical (UPS, generators, BMS) systems Leadership Skills : Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary, globally dispersed teams and acting as the primary liaison between executive leadership and contractor Commercial Acumen : Strong experience handling complex procurement models, contract negotiations, and project forecasting Education : Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management #J-18808-Ljbffr Datacenter People are hiring a Project Director to oversee the end-to-end delivery of mission-critical facilities, taking full accountability for land acquisition, design management, budgeting, and commissioning.
