Responsibilities
• Lead financial management and controlling across the holding entity and the VC fund -accounting, budgeting, forecasting, annual reporting, and cash-flow control in line with group standards.
• Own fund administration and portfolio reporting - fund accounting, capital calls, distributions, investor reporting, portfolio valuations, and performance reviews.
• Partner with the investment and venture-building teams on valuation models, investment tracking, and performance metrics.
• Act as the finance interface to group finance, safeguarding internal controls, group policies, and monthly reporting.
Our client, a newly launched corporate venture unit backed by a major listed European group, is hiring its first Finance Director (Hamburg or Berlin) to build and own the finance function from scratch across both the holding entity and its VC fund.
Qualifications
• 5+ years in audit, finance, or controlling, ideally within venture capital, private equity, or start-ups.
• Hands-on experience in portfolio valuation and fund reporting, with strong analytical skills.
• Solid working knowledge of HGB, IFRS, and fund accounting and valuation principles.
• Fluent in English and German, structured and comfortable across founder-to-corporate stakeholders.
