Our client is a publicly listed company in Germany. For the product line “industrial touchscreen”, we are seeking an experienced Factory Manager (m/f/d) to establish a (new) factory with an R&D center at a new location in China.
The current plant in Shanghai (the initial location for this position) is bursting at the seams, and costs in Shanghai are not competitive. Most importantly, it is nearly impossible to find qualified electronics and software engineers at reasonable costs (salary demands are higher than those of their engineers in Poland!) and in sufficient numbers for the planned R&D center. Therefore, a new factory (initially employing 50 people, expanding to 200 within 2-3 years) with an integrated R&D center is being built at a new location.

- Management of the new plant and the R&D center.
- Planning and budgeting; monitoring of accounting and financial reporting as well as human resources; monitoring of cost developments in China
- Introduction of new products in close coordination with sales and product management in Germany and China.
Requirements
- Fluent in Chinese and English. German will be a plus, but not a requirement.
- At least 5 years of experience as a factory manager, preferably with experience in relevant products/industries
- Preferably with experience in setting up a production plant, ideally in Asia/China
- Successful career and experience as plant manager of a plant with at least 50 employees
- University degree in engineering, preferably in a Western country, especially in Germany.
