Summary
This Senior Executive Service (SES) position is in the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, Office of Mission Critical Operations, Regulatory and Information Services Division.
This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected). Major Duties
The Regulatory and Information Services Division is responsible for OCSPP's scientific peer review panels, pesticide records, and regulatory support.
RISD is also responsible for communicating OCSPP's regulatory and statutory actions through Federal Register Notices and coordinating Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, managing dockets, and overseeing records management.
Specific duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Planning, developing, organizing, directing, and implementing several Agency-wide programs including communicating regulatory and other OCSPP decisions regarding records, information access, FOIA requests, peer review, ethics review, and regulatory support.
Assessing needs, defining goals, developing program plans, establishing the organizational structure of RISD, delegating authority and responsibility, and establishing overall RISD operating policies, priorities, and procedures.
Managing the independent scientific peer review process provided through the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, Scientific Advisory Panel, and the Toxic Substances Control Act Science Advisory Commitee on Chemicals.
Coordinating RISD activities with representatives of foreign, State, and muncipal governments with other Federal agencies, industry, academia and private organizations having a mutual interest or responsibility with the program area assigned to the RISD.
Supervising a large staff of employees organized into units headed by subordinate managers and supervisors.
