You will continuously optimize performance management processes and foster the ongoing development of UX capabilities across the teams. Additionally, you have found experience leading managers or team leads and successfully scaling UX organizations.
You are characterized by strong leadership capabilities, coaching skills, and the ability to inspire teams through periods of change and transformation.

Your Responsibilities As Director of User Experience (m/f/d), you will be responsible for defining and driving DocuWare's user experience vision while leading the UX organization (accountable for Research & Design) through its next stage of growth and maturity. This is a build-and-scale role, not a maintenance one.
We need a maker and a leader who leads through the work — not a strategy-only or people-management-only role. You will establish and maintain UX standards, processes, governance frameworks, and success metrics across the organization.
You will develop and execute a company-wide UX strategy that elevates UX maturity and strengthens user-centric thinking. Additionally, you will influence product strategy, roadmap decisions, budgeting, and resource planning while advocating exceptional user experiences at every stage of the product lifecycle.
Together with Product Management, Engineering, and executive stakeholders, you will shape the future of DocuWare's products and ensure that user experience is a key driver of business success. You will mentor and coach UX leaders, support career development initiatives, and build succession plans that enable sustainable organizational growth.
What you need to succeed Career experience: You have a completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, User Experience Design, or a comparable field. You bring an extensive amount of professional experience in User Experience, including a proven track record of advancing UX maturity within growing organizations.
In addition to your UX expertise, you possess a strong knowledge of strategic product management and experience influencing product strategy at an executive level.
You have demonstrated experience collaborating as a peer with senior Product and Engineering leaders and influencing strategic decisions regarding roadmaps, budgets, and organizational growth. You have extensive knowledge across both UX Research and UX Design and can effectively guide and balance both disciplines.
You have experience leading cultural transformation initiatives and successfully promoting user-centered ways of working across organizations. Additional skillset: You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to translate complex challenges into clear and actionable solutions.
You have a highly collaborative mindset and thrive in cross-functional environments. You demonstrate an empathetic communication style and build trusted relationships across all organizational levels. You have a strong focus on user needs and a deep understanding of user behavior.
You possess creativity, adaptability, and a passion for continuous innovation in evolving UX and AI environments. You have professional English language skills at C2 level and German language skills at B2 level or higher.
