Director of Java Backend Engineering (Core Trading Technology)

As a Director (f/m/x) in Java Backend Engineering, you will set the technical direction for high-performance backend systems in a latency-sensitive electronic trading environment and lead a globally distributed engineering team delivering front-to-back trading solutionsDefine and drive the overall technical vision, architecture strategy, and delivery of end-to-end trading platformsLead and develop a globally distributed engineering organization, including mentoring senior engineers and supporting hiring activitiesOversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of complex front-to-back trading systemsEvaluate, prototype, and introduce innovative technologies and solutions to address business and technical challengesChampion AI-assisted engineering practices, tools, and frameworks to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiencyEstablish and maintain engineering excellence through architecture governance, code reviews, standards, and technical mentorshipCollaborate with senior business stakeholders, architects, QA, and DevOps teams to align priorities, drive automation, and optimize the software delivery lifecycleQualificationsPractical experience applying AI within software engineering environments and driving the adoption of AI-enabled development practicesStrong understanding of modern software architectures, design patterns, industry frameworks, and engineering best practicesDemonstrated success leading and mentoring engineers within globally distributed teamsExpert-level hands-on experience in Core Java, including multithreading, networking, performance optimization, and scalable system designProven track record in designing, developing, and delivering complex front-to-back enterprise systems end-to-endExcellent stakeholder management, communication, and English language skills, with the ability to engage effectively across both business and technical audiencesExperience implementing high-performance, fault-tolerant, and load-balanced solutions, supported by solid mathematical and algorithmic knowledge
