You will work as part of a small, internationally distributed team and serve as the key point of contact for shipyards, design offices, internal managing directors, and the Director Technical Fleet Management.

Director Newbuildings & Shipbuilding Projects (m/f/d) We offer • A responsible director-level position with significant scope for shaping the future and short decision-making processes • Direct influence on the technical development of our fleet • 30 days of annual leave • A modern workplace in an international environment • A wide range of additional benefits (e.g., complimentary travel on our vessels, bike leasing, employee parking, and more) Responsibilities • Lead and manage newbuilding, conversion, and shipbuilding projects throughout the group • Coordinate shipyards, engineering consultancies, suppliers from the maritime industry, classification societies, and internal departments • Evaluate technical concepts, specifications, proposals, and solutions • Manage projects from initial concept and tendering through construction, acceptance, and commissioning • Plan battery, hybrid propulsion, energy, and charging infrastructure projects to improve fleet energy efficiency • Monitor and control costs, schedules, quality, risks, and technical interfaces • Provide strategic advice to the Group Executive Management and the operating shipping companies Your Profile • Experience in shipbuilding, vessel operations, a technical shipping environment, or maritime project management • Qualification as a Marine Engineering Technician, Naval Architect, Marine Engineer, or equivalent hands-on experience • A university degree is desirable but not mandatory • Technical understanding of electrical systems, batteries, energy management, or charging infrastructure is advantageous • Independent, analytical, structured, and solution-oriented working style • Leadership capability without direct line management responsibility: you coordinate, influence, and keep projects on track • Confident and effective communicator when dealing with technical partners, directors, and operational business units • Excellent English language skills and willingness to travel internationally In this position, you will report directly to the Group Executive Management based in Flensburg.
