We are looking for an experienced Director of Quality Assurance to join our team and serve our clients with excellence. Our team of seasoned finance and accounting professionals specializes in navigating the complexities of startups and high-growth businesses.
This individual partners closely with client service teams, controllers, and leadership to uphold high standards, mitigate risk, and enhance overall performance.
What you will own & improve: Quality Assurance & Control • Design, implement, and maintain firm wide quality assurance and quality control standards • Review financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance • Establish and track quality metrics, including error rates, rework, and timeliness • Conduct regular audits of client files and internal processes Cleanup • Lead complex cleanup projects, including account reconciliations, reclassifications, and historical corrections • Identify root causes of errors and implement corrective and preventive actions • Oversee the resolution of prior-period discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting • Partner with teams to transition completed accounts into regular operations Process Improvement & Standardization • Evaluate existing workflows and implement improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy across the organization • Develop standardized procedures, templates, and documentation • Train the organization on new processes • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and best practices across the firm • Support capacity planning and resource alignment Leadership & Team Development • Lead, mentor, and develop QA/QC and cleanup team members • Provide technical guidance and training on accounting standards and firm expectations across the organization • Support performance management through coaching and feedback • Promote a culture of accountability and high-quality output Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner with client service teams and leadership to address quality concerns and risks • Serve as a subject matter expert on complex accounting issues • Communicate findings, recommendations, and progress clearly to stakeholders • Assist with onboarding new clients through initial assessments and cleanup planning Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field; CPA required • 10+ years of progressive professional accounting experience in a client services organization • Highly organized and proactive systems thinker • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building process • Able to manage demanding founder-led clients with professionalism • Strong follow-through and ownership mentality • Experience in professional services, outsourced services or consulting preferred What you already know: • Experience with most of the following online or similar platforms: • QuickBooks Online • NetSuite • Bill.com • Gusto • Shopify • Experience working with and for start-up businesses • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry experience preferred • Knowledge of USGAAP standard for revenue recognition, COGS, inventory and costing • Ability to manage several client engagements simultaneously, with a focus on service • Time management skills, working with clients • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Advanced project management and problem solving skills with a roll-up-your-sleeves, get-it-done attitude Salary $150,000 - $160,000 per year About Us: Crew Finance is a specialized consulting firm dedicated to providing financial expertise and support to startups in the Consumer, Technology and Software as a Service (SaaS) sectors.

With Crew Finance, you’re not just on-board—you’re charting a course for success. Description About the role The Director of Quality Assurance / Quality Control is responsible for leading the firm’s quality strategy to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of all accounting deliverables.
This role oversees the development and execution of quality control processes, identifies and resolves systemic issues and leads cleanup efforts of new and ongoing clients. The role also leads cleanup and remediation efforts for complex accounts, ensuring financials are reliable and aligned with professional standards.
The Director plays a critical role in building scalable processes, establishing accountability, and fostering a culture of quality, ownership, and operational excellence across the firm. This role is central to protecting the firm’s reputation, strengthening client trust, and enabling scalable growth.
By ensuring high-quality, reliable financials and embedding best-in-class processes, the Director of QA/QC directly impacts client outcomes and operational excellence across the organization.
