Requirements Conditions of employment • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. • A one-year probationary period may be required. • This position has been identified as having regular contact with children under the age of 18.

In accordance with Section 231 of the Crime Control Act of 1990 (Public Law 101-647 codified at 34 U.S.C. • 20351) and DoD Instruction • Favorably adjudicated background checks are required. • Position is subject to immunization requirements as a condition of employment for working with children and youth. • Employee is required to obtain appropriate immunization against communicable diseases in accordance with recommendations from the Advisory committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), which includes the influenza vaccine. • Must pass a pre-employment physical and subsequent physicals, thereafter, provide evidence of immunization and be free from communicable disease. • Must complete all DoD and Service training requirements within the specified time including orientation, initial, and annual ongoing training requirements, and any required certifications. • Must maintain current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handlers certifications. • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively orally and in writing. • The incumbent is required to have mobility necessary to ensure safety of children and youth and engage in repetitive actions such as walking, standing, bending, stooping, and sitting on the floor. • The incumbent must have the visual and auditory capabilities to supervise children and youth, to comply with sight and sound supervision requirements and to provide immediate responses when applicable. • Tour of duty may include nights, weekends, and holidays. • Majority of the work is performed in the CYS facility, including classroom settings, activity areas, and outdoor areas, with occasional indoor and outdoor field trips.

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following Education: Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in child development, early childhood education, elementary or secondary education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, or other fields appropriate to the position.

For positions in School-Age facilities The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, youth development, youth administration, secondary education, home economics, physical education, or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science.

OR One Of The Following Combination of education and experience as stated below in Option 1 & 2: Option 1: A combination of education and experience . Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience.

Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following: • 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 6 months must be in a supervisory position. • The McCormick Credential.

OR Option 2: A combination of education and experience. Education : 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience.

Experience : Candidate must also possess all of the following: • At least 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 12 months must be in a supervisory position.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
