The Construction Director will work closely with the Project Director, client representatives, design teams, commercial teams, subcontractors and commissioning personnel throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities • Provide overall leadership and direction for all site-based construction activities. • Develop and implement the project construction strategy and delivery plan. • Manage construction managers, package managers, site managers and subcontractor teams. • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with the agreed programme, budget and quality requirements. • Coordinate civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical construction packages. • Work closely with planning teams to monitor progress, identify delays and implement recovery plans. • Lead regular construction, coordination and progress meetings. • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure contractual obligations are achieved. • Maintain strong relationships with the client, consultants, design teams and project stakeholders. • Ensure the project maintains the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance. • Support the procurement and appointment of subcontractors and specialist suppliers. • Review construction methodologies, logistics plans, risk assessments and method statements. • Manage interfaces between construction, testing, commissioning and handover activities. • Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures. • Ensure quality inspections, documentation and snagging activities are completed effectively. • Support commercial teams with change management, variations and subcontractor performance. • Provide accurate progress reports to senior project leadership. • Drive a positive, collaborative and accountable site culture. • Ensure compliance with German construction regulations and applicable employment and labour requirements.

Qualifications • Significant experience in a Construction Director, Project Director or senior construction leadership position. • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical infrastructure associated with data centres. • Experience managing multidisciplinary construction teams and major subcontract packages. • Strong knowledge of construction programming, project controls and commercial management. • Demonstrable experience managing projects through construction, commissioning and handover. • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills. • Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements. • Ability to identify programme risks and implement effective recovery strategies. • Experience working on construction projects in Germany or mainland Europe is highly desirable. • Understanding of German AÜG regulations and compliant workforce arrangements would be advantageous. • Fluent English is required; German language skills would be beneficial. • Hyperscale, colocation or cloud data centre construction. • High-voltage electrical systems, substations and backup power infrastructure. • Cooling systems, generators, UPS systems and building-management systems. • Phased construction within a live data centre campus. • Managing projects from early construction through commissioning and client handover. • Working with international clients, contractors and specialist MEP subcontractors.

Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Director to lead the delivery of a major data centre project in the Frankfurt region. The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for construction activities, ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.

This position requires strong leadership experience across large-scale data centre, mission-critical or technically complex construction projects.
