Watch stories about our people, patients and the communities we serve at finestcare.com.au About this Opportunity The Clinical Director Primary Care provides clinical leadership for the delivery of a broad range of primary care services from the Port Augusta Base.

The role supports the Executive General Manager, Primary Health Care, Nursing & Midwifery, and contributes to the development, implementation and delivery of alternative and innovative service delivery methodologies.

The role is also responsible for the guiding and mentoring to RFDS Rural Generalists, Rural Generalist Registrars and medical students. You’ll come to work knowing that your efforts are enabling our organisation to remain at the forefront of rural and remote health care delivery and advocacy.

We are seeking a candidate based in Port Augusta or the surrounding areas. We would also consider applicants who are willing to work on a drive-in/drive-out (DIDO) arrangement. We believe our people – all of our people – keep the Royal Flying Doctor Service flying.

About You To be successful in this role you will be a doctor with extensive experience in aeromedical retrieval.

You will have: • Highly developed leadership, management and communication skills • Experience supervising and mentoring consultants, registrars and medical students • Medical degree and Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM • Unrestricted Medical Practitioner registration with AHPRA • Eligible for credentialing to Country Health SA Hospitals for the provision of emergency medical services as a Rural Generalist, with appropriate experience in procedural skills, obstetrics, emergency medicine, resuscitation and paediatrics • Experience in remote area medicine • A good understanding of and appreciation for primary healthcare, and emergency medicine Ideally, you will also have experience in remote area medicine, along with a well-developed understanding of rural and remote Australia and the challenges of providing first class healthcare within these environments.
