Responsibilities
• Teach and develop online or onsite courses in Counseling theories, counseling law and ethics, current issues in school and college counseling, program review, crisis intervention, trauma in youth, social and cultural issues, career development, group counseling and assessment and evaluation.
• Maintain pedagogical and subject matter expertise in the instructor’s field.
• Create an inclusive and positive learning environment for diverse learners.
• Ensure course and program practices align with compliance and accreditation standards.
• Adhere to the National University’s academic integrity policy.
• Maintain a productive scholarship agenda suitable to a teaching university.
• Engage in scholarly activities to maintain professional growth.
• Participate in curriculum oversight, shared governance, and the student experience.
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Educational Counseling or related discipline, required.
• Leadership experience as a director or coordinator of a school counseling graduate program.
• Understanding of school counselor roles in California public schools.
• Experience with online education.
• Current California PPS credential in school counseling.
Core Competencies
Demonstrates expertise in Counseling Theories, Counseling Law and Ethics, and Crisis Intervention while fostering an inclusive learning environment. Holds a Terminal Degree and California PPS Credential, with leadership experience in school counseling programs and a commitment to scholarly activities.
